In 2016, we have planned several activities for young composers:
Tenso Young Composers Workshop (TYCW) 2016
The first round of the Tenso Young Composers Workshop took place during Tenso Days Mechelen 2016, from 13-15 May. Meet the five young composers that were selected to take part and have a look at photos of the sessions (Facebook) or take a photo tour of Tenso Days Mechelen (Flickr).
Selected composers for the second round – which will take place in Copenhagen from 24-25 October – are: Aftab Darvishi (IR), Piyawat Louilarpprasert (TH) and Sophie Sparkes (UK). More information will follow.
EXTRA Tenso Workshop Composing for Choir and Electronics
Together with the Centre for Music & Technology of the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, we will organize a special workshop for composing for choir and electronics. Three young composers will have the opportunity to work in detail on creating a new composition with coaches Marco Stroppa and Alejandro Viñao, Helsingin kamarikuoro and students and staff of Sibelius Academy.
Tenso Young Composers Workshop 2015 (second round)
The second round of the 2015 edition took place in Marseille, 4-5 February 2016. Sebastian Androne (RO), Sofia Borges (PT) and Léo Collin (FR) were selected to come to Marseille and work with Musicatreize, James Wood, Leo Samama and Roland Hayrabedian on sketches for a capella choir. Tenso Young Composers Award 2015 was given to Sebastian Androne. Read more.
