MIND THE GAP – dreaming about new concert formats
Monday 14:00- 20:00 and Tuesday 09:30 -13:00 Radialsystem – open upon registration
The inspiration for exciting choral projects may come from faraway places – across generations, continents, cultures… In MIND THE GAP, we invite artists, scientists and other visionary thinkers who inspire us with their vision on art and music, to close the gap and work on new ideas.
The conference will be organized in 5 sessions with speakers from three areas:
- The sky is the limit: Artists from different art forms (dance, life performance, electronic and visual arts etc.) brainstorm, exchange and dream together with composers and conference members about their visions for future choral concerts.
- Project presentations: Getting to know interesting projects and approaches from different art forms.
- Informative Sessions: Scientists, working in the field of audience research, as well as practitioners will present recent studies, methods and projects.
In addition we will experiences visions for choral music put in practice:
- Open Kitchen Concert: Three alumni from the Tenso programmes for young musicians perform and try our their visions for choral music in the framework of a small concert. Based on the idea of an open kitchen, the Alumni will be given each a 30 minutes slot, where they can show their ideas for a “new concert format” recipe and discuss their vision and also the challenges with the other participants.
