2013 Award
After going through an early round in Stockholm and working with James Wood as a coach, Eugene Birman was appointed winner of the 2013 Tenso Young Composers Award among the 3 selected finalists. Read more here.

For the first round, the jury selected the following five composers from a total of 48 applications:
Eugene Birman 1987 (LV/US – studies in EE/UK)
Mathias Coppens 1988 (BE – studies in FR )
Jamie Man 1987 (UK – studies in NL)
Mátyás Wettl 1987 (HU – studies in NL)
Chris Williams 1986 (AUS – studies in UK)

Three finalists – Jamie Man, Mátyás Wettl and Eugene Birman were selected for the second round that took place in Mechelen (BE) during the Festival van Vlaanderen / Mechelen hoort stemmen Festival.
